Hugh MacLeod walks the walk

In Innovation on March 4, 2009 at 12:26 pm

How many of us walk through our lives, saying to ourselves, “I’d wish I were living life on my own terms. “Probably quite a few. It’s easy to feel like things are out of your hands, especially in today’s environment. That’s why I have so much respect for Hugh MacLeod, author of Gaping Void. Hugh is living life on his terms. Making, and selling, art the way he wants to, not the way ‘the man’ wants you to believe it must be done.

It always comes back to marketing

It always comes back to marketing

Hugh is embarking on a challenging, rewarding and fulfilling journey, selling fine art prints direct to consumers.

Everything about the venture is pure Hugh. He’s named his tribe Crazy, Deranged Fools, and I for one am interested in joining such a group.

If you know his work, Hugh has carved out a completely unique spot – he draws incredibly insightful cartoons on the back of business cards. Check out some of his work here and here.

But his latest venture are the fine art prints, much larger than his business card work.

The truth is, most of us are not creative geniuses. But that shouldn’t be an excuse for not living life on your own terms.
